Tulelake's Advisors

Mr. Coronel is our Agricultural Sciences teacher at Tulelake High School. In 2021, Mr. Coronel completed his student teaching requirements here at our school. We thoroughly enjoyed him as a student teacher and we are now excited to have him as our newest FFA advisor. Prior to entering the credential program, he graduated from CSU Chico in 2017 with a B.S. in Ag Business. He began his educational career at Modesto Junior College. He is originally from Los Banos, California, and his personal interests include camping, boating, sports, and off-roading. Mr. Coronel is looking forward to coaching Vegetable Crop Judging, Agricultural Pest Control, and speaking competitions. His ultimate goal is to win a state championship.

Mr. Schaad started teaching at Tulelake in 2017. He is Tulelake’s Agricultural Department Chair and is the 2022 Superior Region California Agriculture Teacher Association President, the Superior Region Teacher of Excellence and the Superior Region Outstanding Agricultural Mechanics Pathway Instructor. He graduated from Chico State with a major in Agricultural Science. Mr. Schaad coaches the Agricultural Mechanics Team and Impromptu Speaking. He comes from a family of Agriculturalists as his mother was an ag teacher and father is an orchard farmer. Mr. Schaad has two sons, Jack and Charlie, that are heavily involved in the day to day operations of the Tulelake Shop or any tractor they happen to see and a wife, Laura, who is an alumni of Tulelake High School and a State and National Champion in Agricultural Sales. Mr. Schaad and his family love living in Tulelake because of the small town surrounded by agriculture and the pride and support our small town has. He loves the students' positive attitude and their drive to succeed.
